Luis Zuñiga Saá is a professional musician who comfortably assumes the roles of both performer and educator. His music has been heard in the United States, Central America, and Europe. His performances explore a diverse range of styles, both as soloist and as a member of an orchestra or band, and have been heard in diverse venues from privately owned locales suitable for a one-man show to grand theaters perfect for full orchestral extravaganzas.
Zuñiga has performed with orchestras such as New World Symphony, the Miami Symphony, and a Concerto Performance with the University of Miami Symphony Orchestra (2003). He is the co-founder/alto saxophonist of the Panama International Saxophone Quartet, which actively tours Central America. In 2006, the Panama International Saxophone was invited to be part of the Gala Concert and Opening Ceremony of the Second Annual Panama Jazz Festival. He has performed in the most important venues of Panama, such as the Anita Villalaz Theatre in the historic section of Panama City, the grand National Theater of Panama, the Lincoln Theatre in South Beach Florida, Walt Disney Concert Hall in down town Los Angeles and the Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall in New York City. His experience as conductor led to his appointment as conductor of The National Youth Symphony of Panama (Orquesta Juvenil Istmeña) during the 2005-2006 Season.

As an educator, Zuñiga has been the Music Director of The International School of Panama (ISP), Panama City, Panama for the past two years. He has taught K through 12, music appreciation courses, as well as instrumental music, including chamber ensemble and symphonic band. At ISP he has worked side-by-side with the Drama Department as Music Director on a significant number of junior musicals, including Into The Woods, Dear Edwina, Jungle Book and Honk!.
His formal studies include a Bachelor of Music from the University of Miami (Florida), School of Music, and a Masters in Music from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He has been fortunate to have studied with world-class saxophonists Dr. Douglas Masek, Gary Keller, and Jean-Michel Goury, chamber music with Robert Rozek and conducting with Tom Sleeper.
Luis Zuñiga, fluent in both English and Spanish, is a cosmopolitan, versatile and consummate musician; comfortable in international settings, he ascribes to the philosophy that the performance of music recognizes no borders, limitations are personal not political.
