Luis Zuñiga Saá is a professional musician who comfortably assumes the roles of both performer and educator. His music has been heard in the United States, Central America, and Europe. His performances explore a diverse range of styles, both as soloist and as a member of an orchestra or band. Zuniga has been heard in diverse venues from privately owned locales suitable for a one-man show to grand theaters perfect for full orchestral extravaganzas.
Zuñiga has performed with orchestras such as New World Symphony, the Miami Symphony, and a Concerto Performance with the University of Miami Symphony Orchestra (2003). He is the co-founder/alto saxophonist of the Panama International Saxophone Quartet, which actively tours Central America. In 2006, the Panama International Saxophone was invited to be part of the Gala Concert and Opening Ceremony of the Second Annual Panama Jazz Festival. He has performed in the most important venues of Panama, such as the Anita Villalaz Theatre in the historic section of Panama City, the grand National Theater of Panama, the Lincoln Theatre in South Beach Florida, Walt Disney Concert Hall in down town Los Angeles and the Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall in New York City. His experience as conductor led to his appointment as conductor of The National Youth Symphony of Panama (Orquesta Juvenil Istmeña) during the 2005-2006 Season.
